Job Description:

Assistant Nurse Manager – Full time – Finger Lakes Center for Living

Will be responsible for direction of resident care in the skilled nursing setting. Manages licensed personnel. Consults with staff, physicians, management team on nursing problems and interpretation of Nursing Facility’ policies to ensure resident needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QAPI activities and assists in formulating budget.

Salary – $85k-90k DOE

Initiates the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the Nursing Services in collaboration with appropriate services.
Establishes and maintains job specifications and descriptions for Nursing Services personnel in conjunction with the Director of Staff Development.
Participates in SNF planning, decision-making and policy formulation at management meetings.
Maintains unit workflow through demonstrated leadership and time management skills.
Transcribes orders and ensures accurate documentation of resident condition and family contact.
Makes rounds on nursing units daily.
Participates in the quality improvement functions by collecting and verifying data, as needed.
Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for all interdisciplinary approach to the resident’s / resident’s needs. Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of residents and their families.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates knowledge of the geriatric resident and evaluates licensed nurses’ / CNA abilities to provide competent quality care.
Supervises licensed nurses and CNA’s in their daily work.
Direct Departments to continuing education and in-service programs.
Coordinates and directs resident care and education by monitoring care plans and assisting licensed nurses to improve the quality of care rendered.
Oversees the assessment of all residents and the completion and updating the Minimum Data Sets and Care Plans.
Conducts licensed personnel meetings on a regular basis.
Participates in MDS Assessment and care planning.
Assess and care plan for restorative nursing care.
Performs other duties per request of Nursing Administration.
Assists the nursing leadership team with on-call responsibilities and staffing shortages as needed.
Maintains competency of all facility medication carts & unit manager responsibilities.

 

Qualifications:

Must have current RN license in the State of NY and a current BCLS certification. Requires 3 or more years of previous experience in all aspects of geriatric care nursing. A current certification in gerontological nursing is preferred.
