Summary
As a Patient Services Representative at Auburn Community Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring an exceptional experience for our patients. This position will be responsible for managing patient interactions and facilitating their access to healthcare services, contributing to our mission of delivering quality care.
Responsibilities
- Maintain appointments and schedule patients for various tests in Radiology, according to established guidelines, cancel and reschedule as necessary.
- Give instructions for specified studies to patients and physician’s office personnel.
- Ensure physician’s orders are received prior to preparing requisitions slip for radiological procedures.
- Prepare requisitions for radiologic examinations and place on proper door.
- Answer the department telephone, respond, refer or record and distribute messages as appropriate. Locate and retrieve reports and/or films for consultations, viewing, as requested.
- Receive requests for and prepare films/reports for other hospitals as directed.
- Request films/reports for other hospital as directed.
- Prepare daily house list, pull and prepare folders for day’s activities.
- Prepare and mark filing bins daily.
- Pull, sort and re-file films in appropriate file system/area.
- Maintains full understanding of the Radiology Management system as it pertains to the work responsibilities of this job description.
- Maintains neat and orderly work area.
- Provides patient assistance as needed, primarily limited to verbal interaction but may also require providing emesis basins, blankets, etc., as needed by patients. Also responsible to examine IVAC if alarm is sounding and call nurse if unable to correct.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience working in an office setting, preferably in an acute care environment.
- Typing 40 wpm required.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.

Pay: $19.74 – $22.43 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
