Our Team

Eastern Finger Lakes Emergency Medical Care, PLLC provides medical care at Auburn Community Hospital’s Emergency Department under the direction of Dr. Patsy Iannolo.

Emergency Department

Our Emergency Department is built on the concept of excellence—excellence in quality, compassion and customer service. We are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week because we know emergencies can happen at any time. We understand that having an emergency is stressful for everyone and we have hired a staff of doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners who specialize in giving you the emergency quality care you deserve. Our Emergency Department is continually working to make your time with us the most caring and efficient in Central New York with shorter wait times and stays in our Emergency Care Unit.

When you arrive, you will be cared for by an experienced triage nurse who will determine which emergency pathway best suits your needs.

Fast Track

Fast track is a special pathway that quickly attends to minor emergencies. Examples of these types of emergencies include muscle sprains, lacerations, sore throats, rashes or insect bites. Our team provides rapid, high-quality care that gets you back to your day quickly.

Emergency Care Unit (ECU)

The Emergency Care Unit (ECU) is another pathway in the Emergency Department. This pathway manages more potentially critical emergencies such as stroke, heart attack, serious infections, surgical emergencies and trauma. Our ECU team members all specialize in emergency critical care.

The average time spent in an Emergency Department in New York is approximately four hours. In large cities, this can be as long as six hours before a doctor can tell you what is going on. Regardless of the pathway you experience, Auburn Community Hospital Emergency Department performs our own lab studies and radiologic studies so we can get the results back quickly. In most cases, this care is completed in well under four hours. This allows you to get the care you need with the service you expect when utilizing our Emergency Department.

You and your loved ones are welcome and we accept walk-ins. When you arrive, you will be asked to sign in and register. As rooms become available, you will be taken to a treatment area for initial evaluation by a Registered Nurse. Shortly after that, you will be cared for by one of our Doctors, Physician Assistants, or Nurse Practitioners. In the event it is needed, we have onsite testing available for non-emergencies. We will help you secure follow-up with your personal physician; if you should need a personal physician, we will work to find you one.
