Auburn Community Hospital (ACH) is pleased to announce the addition of cardiologist Dr. Suhayb Kadura to its Heart & Vascular Institute as the hospital expands services through its new cardiac catheterization lab.
Dr. Kadura completed his residency at the University of Rochester and completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease at SUNY Health Science Center and in Interventional Cardiology at Hartford Hospital (University of Connecticut), respectively. Dr. Kadura has also served in roles involving the education and training of residents, fellows, and medical students.
Dr. Kadura brings experience in high-acuity cardiac emergencies, including the evaluation and treatment of heart attacks, as well as catheter-based therapies for the heart, including treatments involving the coronary blood vessels and heart valves. His clinical work has served patients across Upstate New York, including communities connected to Buffalo, Rochester, Elmira, Cooperstown, and Syracuse, bringing regional expertise that helps expand access to timely, high-acuity cardiac care closer to home.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kadura to our growing team of interventional cardiologists. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Cayuga County. As we begin our cardiac catheterization services, we are already seeing growing need,” said Scott Berlucci, President & CEO. “Dr. Kadura is a strong complement to the Heart & Vascular Institute team.”
“My focus as a physician has always been taking care of patients in communities that have had less access to this level of care,” said Dr. Kadura. “Heart attacks don’t wait, and people shouldn’t have to travel long distances to receive timely, high-quality treatment. With the opening of the cardiac catheterization lab at ACH, we are expanding access to care that can make a meaningful difference for patients close to home.”
Dr. Kadura is recognized as one of the state’s highest-volume physicians in acute heart attack care, bringing experience often concentrated in larger centers to communities that need it.
ACH’s cardiac catheterization lab is intended to support rapid assessment and treatment when clinically appropriate and to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for certain cardiac services.
