Biography
Dr. Jonathan Huang, DO, AGAF, FAASLD is a board-certified hepatologist and gastroenterologist who serves as Chief of Auburn Gastroenterology at Auburn Community Hospital. He joined ACH in January 2026, bringing more than 20 years of medical experience and highly specialized expertise in liver disease to Cayuga County and the greater Central New York region. As one of the few practicing hepatologists in Upstate New York, Dr. Huang plays a key role in expanding access to advanced liver and digestive care for the community.
Dr. Huang comes to Auburn Community Hospital from the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he is a practicing hepatologist and gastroenterologist, Associate Professor of Medicine, and Director of the Digestive and Liver Disease Center for Research. A Rochester native, he earned his medical degree from Midwestern University in Illinois, completed his internal medicine internship and residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and went on to complete fellowships in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
At Auburn Community Hospital, Dr. Huang is focused on bringing specialized liver care closer to home while expanding gastroenterology services throughout the region. He is committed to collaborating with local providers to streamline patient care, improve access to diagnostic and procedural services, and introduce services that were previously unavailable in Cayuga County, including direct-access colonoscopies. His leadership strengthens ACH’s growing reputation as a destination for advanced digestive and liver disease treatment.
