The Cardiac Cath Lab RN is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation coordination, observation and evaluation of nursing care function and performance relating to nursing team, concerned with patient care, treatment, safety and comfort during assigned shift. Responsibilities include scrubbing-in for the surgical portion of the procedure, circulating within the procedure room to organize and perform the non-sterile portions of the procedure, and operating the necessary equipment to maintain the hemodynamic stability and safety of the patient during the procedure. Has and is competent in Emergency and surgical procedure skills to perform procedures and maintain safe environment for the patient. Provides education, support and Cath Lab and IR procedure competencies to nursing and imaging staff. The Cardiac Cath Lab RN also maintains skills in interventional radiography to provide cross-coverage and supplemental staffing as required.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current license to practice in New York State. BLS and ACLS required. Previous critical care or Emergency Room experience preferred. Previous Cath lab experience preferred, Able to meet the RCIS Certification within 2 years of hire. CCRN would be advantageous and can replace the RCIS requirement.
Monday – Friday 7am-3pm (on-call weekends)
