'We have to be ready': Auburn Community Hospital hosts fair aimed at raising patient safety awareness

AUBURN | When it comes to caring for patients, there is little question that Auburn Community Hospital has dramatically improved.

ACH received a high quality rating this past fall by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a rating that ranked the Auburn hospital as one of the best hospitals in the country. The Auburn hospital received positive recognition again last month after the SafeCare Group ranked it 23rd in a list of the United States' 100 safest hospitals.

Considering ACH received one of the worst quality ratings in the nation in 2012, the high rankings make the hospital's staff particularly proud. But, according to Ann E. Doran, the hospital's vice president of quality, there is always room for improvement.
