Todd R. Lentz, M.D., Appointed Director of AMH Hospitalist Program

Auburn Memorial Hospital (AMH) is pleased to announce that Todd R. Lentz, M.D. has accepted the position of Director of the Hospitalist Program. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Lentz has been employed as a full time hospitalist at Auburn Memorial Hospital since 2004 as well as the Assistant Director since 2008.

Dr. Lentz completed his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y. He also completed a residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Upstate, where he served as an Assistant Clinical Instructor. Dr Lentz is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. .

Hospitalists are medical physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. A hospitalist is a physician who is not the patient’s family doctor, but who is responsible for their medical care during a hospital stay. Hospitalists are available to care for patients in the hospital seven days a week, 24 hours a day in order to provide patients with ongoing and immediate care. They work as partners with the patient’s primary care physician to provide the highest standard of care during a hospitalization.

Dr Lentz’s interests include spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, golfing, and magic tricks.
