Auburn Community Hospital 2016 Volunteer Luncheon

Over fifty volunteers gathered at the Springside Inn for a luncheon on June 9th to celebrate their successful hard work as invaluable members to Auburn Community Hospital.

The volunteers have had different motives for their giving, but it continuously yields the same result. Thousands of volunteer hours have poured into Auburn Community Hospital worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. This service is truly priceless to the community.

In 2015, there were 86 active volunteers who worked over 15,000 hours in 25 different hospital departments from the gift shop, Finger Lakes Center for Living, to transport services.

The MC of the event, Bridget Dautrich, Director of Community Relations thanked the volunteers for the invaluable services that they provide to the hospital.

Among the festivities, the hospital specially recognized various individuals for contributing 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service to the hospital and community. Marilyn Birsner was honored with her 20 year service pin.

Three individuals, Jim Whitley, Doxie Sherman, and Roy Blaisdell were also honored at the ceremony for spending over 1,000 hours volunteering in the hospital in 2015. There were also service awards given for providing 100-800 volunteer hours.

“The many new achievements at the hospital would not have been possible without you” Brad Chapman, Vice President of Administration said during the program.

The Hospital Board of Directors drafted a resolution honoring the volunteers, which was signed by Board Chairman Joseph P. Bartolotta, Esq. The resolution will be placed in the volunteer lounge so that the volunteers know that the hospital is forever grateful for the services they provide.
